On behalf of Lone Star College Cy-Fair and Lamar University, we would like to invite professors and students from your institution to submit abstracts to the TwinStar Conference hosted at Lone Star College Cy-Fair and co-organized with Lamar University. I have attached a flyer to this email, and I have listed the requirements and information below.
Student Abstracts
- Must be between 500-750 words
- Must be submitted by December 3rd, 2018
- All Abstracts should be in DOC, DOCX, or PDF format
- All Abstracts should be in MLA Style
- Must be emailed to papers@twinstarconference.com
- Must contain in the subject line of the email
- That you are a Student and the institution you attend
- Student abstracts will be blind-graded
- Student will be notified of acceptance by Dec 15th.
Professor Abstracts
- Must be between 250-500 words
- Must be submitted by Oct. 15th, 2018
- All abstracts should be in Doc, Docx, or PDF format
- All Abstracts should be in MLA style
- Must be emailed to papers@twinstarconference.com
- Must contain in the subject line of the email
- That you are a professor and institution you teach at
- Faculty abstracts will be peer reviewed
- Faculty will be notified of acceptance by Dec. 15th
- Papers will be due by Jan. 15th
Student presentation 1:00-4:30 PM Feb 15th
The student portion of the conference will have three sessions. Each session will be one hour long with a fifteen-minute break between each session. All presentations will be conducted throughout the CASA building. Please check in at least 30 minutes before your presentation.
Faculty Presentations 1:00-4:30 PM Feb 16th.
The professors portion of the conference will have three sessions. Each session will be one hour long with a fifteen-minute break between each session. After the final session, there will be a reception starting at 6 PM.
Length of presentations
For the student conference, each student will be given 10 to 15 minutes for their presentation, and there will be no more than two presentations in each room. Also, questions and answers will be taken following each presentation.
For the professor’s conference, each professor will be given 15 to 20 minutes for their presentation, and no more than two professors will present in each room. If a professor would like a one hour session, then we will have just that professor in the scheduled room. Questions and answers for the professor section will be taken at the professor’s discretion. Students are invited and encouraged to attend the professorsconference.
For the reception on Feb 16th, University of Houston Philosophy Professor Cynthia Freeland will speak, after food has been served. Students and professors are welcomed and encouraged to attend the reception.
