Week One
Read Chapter One.
View videos on active reading and annotation.  Also view the videos on summary writing.
-Beginning of the semester diagnostic (turned in via drop box)
-Introduce yourself class discussion (via D2L discussion board)
Week Two
Read Chapter 26: Basic Sentence Components.
View the videos on subjects, verbs, phrases, clauses, subordination and coordination.
Read Chapter 3: Putting Ideas into Writing.
View the videos on the writing process, what is needed in an essay, and outlining.
-Main Idea and Support Chart + Summary of “The Perils and Promises of Praise” (pages 6-13; turned in via D2L drop box)
-Lab #2 Grammar Assignment (using the D2L assessment feature)
Week Three
View the grammar videos on Run-on Sentences and Comma Splices.
-Lab #3 Grammar Assignment (using the D2L assessment feature)
-Create a formal outline for your Essay #1 (follow the example on page 273; turned in via D2L drop box)
