Personal Profile:

I am from Calgary, Canada where I completed high school. After studying journalism for a short time, I traveled to Mexico to do some lay missionary work. I ended up spending the better part of ten years traveling throughout the country, and resided in the states of Puebla, Veracruz, Oaxaca, and Guerrero where I taught English. As a result, I am fluent in Spanish.

When I returned to Canada from Mexico, I earned a BA in Political Science, International Relations in 1991. Soon afterwards, I met my husband, Paul who is originally from Illinois (SIU) while working in the petroleum industry. We relocated to Houston in 1994 where we live with our two rescue cats, and our lovely Boxer, Xena. I earned my Masters Degree from Sam Houston State University in 2006, and in 2007 I became a naturalized American citizen.

In my spare time, I enjoy the outdoors, traveling, 5Kfun-runs, Agility Training with Xena, and learning to play the piano.
