Wonderland Tea
Tune: Five Little Ducks
A Rhyme by Miss Krissy

Five little teacups at a Wonderland tea.
Some for you and some for me.
I took a sip then drank it up
The mad hatter called out for a clean cup!

Four…Three…Two…

One little teacup at a Wonderland tea.
Some for you and some for me.
I took a sip then drank it up
Now the mad hatter’s out of clean cups!

Please pour the pot while it’s still hot

Two…Three…

Patty Cake
Traditional Rhyme

Pat-a-cake, pat-a cake, baker’s man,
Bake me a cake just as fast as you can.
Pat it and prick it, and mark it with B.
And put it in the oven for baby and me.

Patty-cake, patty-cake, baker’s feet!
Bake me a cake that’s good to eat.
Pat it and roll it and mark it real neat
Then put it in the oven for a tasty treat!

Polly Put the Kettle On
Traditional Rhyme

Polly put the kettle on,
Polly put the kettle on,
Polly put the kettle on,
We’ll all have tea.

Sukey take it off again,
Sukey take it off again,
Sukey take it off again,
They’ve all gone away.

January 20: Winnie the Pooh BabyTime

Happy Birthday Winnie the Pooh (and A. A. Milne)! Today we celebrated with two Winnie the Pooh books, two of my favorite Winnie the Pooh songs, and two songs I made up!

Here are the songs we used:

Here is the Winnie the Pooh theme song that I grew up with.

Deep in the hundred acre wood
Where Christopher Robin plays
You will find the enchanted neighborhood
Of Christopher’s childhood days

A donkey named Eeyore is his friend
And Kanga and little Roo
There’s Rabbit and Piglet
And there’s Owl
But most of all Winnie the Pooh

Winnie the Pooh
Winnie the Pooh
Tubby little cubby all stuffed with fluff
He’s Winnie the Pooh
Winnie the Pooh
Willy nilly silly old bear

I am a Little Black Rain cloud is my other favorite song. This is the one where Pooh bear pretends to be a rain cloud so that he can trick the bees and take some honey!

I’m just a little black rain cloud
Hovering under the honey tree
I’m only a little black rain cloud
Pay no attention to little me

Oh, everyone knows that a rain cloud
Never eats honey, no, not a nip
I’m just floating around over the ground
Wondering where I will drip

And now for the two songs I made up for my favorite silly old bear and his friends!

The Honey Song
Tune: Spider on the floor

There’s honey in the tree in the tree
There’s honey in the tree in the tree
There’s honey in the tree
Oh my oh golly gee
There’s honey in the tree in the tree

There’s honey on my hand on my hand
There’s honey on my hand on my hand
There’s honey on my hand
I just don’t understand
How there’s honey on my hand on my hand

There’s honey in my tummy in my tummy
There’s honey in my tummy in my tummy
There’s honey in my tummy
It sure was very yummy
There’s honey in my tummy in my tummy!

Tigger Bounces Up
Tune: Do Your Ears Hang Low

Oh the woods are great
and the woods are grand
There are lots of tall trees
On this little piece of land
Owl lives way up
at the top of the tree
And this how Tigger
Takes Roo up to see

Oh Tigger bounces up and Tigger bounces down
Tigger bounces up and Tigger bounces down
Oh Tigger bounces up and Tigger bounces down
And spins Roo around!

Snow Falls
https://babetter.wordpress.com/rhymes-fingerplays/new-two-snow-fingerplays/

Snow falls on my head.

Snow falls on my boots
But it doesn’t touch my toes!

Snow falls on my hair.
Snow falls on my shoulders.
Snow falls everywhere!

Five Little Snowmen
Tune: Five Little Ducks
Adapted from:http://stepbystepcc.com/snowman2.html

Five little snowmen round and fat.
Each one wearing a funny hat.
In the morning, out came the sun.
It looked down and melted one.

Four…Three…Two…One…

But do not worry. Do not fear.
The snowmen will all come back
next year.

Dance Like Snowflakes

down we go.
Weeee!
(Let fingers slide down your arm or leg.)

The Snowball
By Shel Silverstein

I made myself a snow ball
as perfect as could be.
I thought I’d keep it as a pet
and let it sleep with me.

I made it some pajamas
and a pillow for it’s head.
Then, last night it ran away.
But first — it wet the bed.

To the patch to choose a pumpkin
Dressed up like a country bumpkin
Oh it’s time to head out to the pumpkin patch,

Oh we’ll all go trick or treatin’ Halloween,
Oh we’ll all go trick or treatin’ Halloween,
Saying “Boo!” to those we meet
Getting lots of things to eat
Oh we’ll all go trick or treatin’ Halloween!
