Textbooks
To reduce student costs and focus more on thematic and period-specific history texts, podcasts, and films I’ve assigned, I use as our core textbook the freely available online U.S. History textbook from Rice University’s OpenStax initiative. You can read the U.S. History text online, in your browser, or download PDF or EPUB versions for tablets and smartphones. You can also purchase a printed hard copy from the OpenStax website or the college bookstore.
